Abstract | The role of the betel leaf has been described since ancient times in various books of Ayurveda mainly due to its curative properties and been used for the treatment of various disorders and stimulated anti-oxidative, anti- mutative, and detoxifying properties. Betel quid chewers have cancerogenic potential seen in many parts of rural areas in India. This study proves that when used in correct proportions [betel leaf, areca nut and betel lime], acts as natural means for protection against caries and non -carious lesions as it re-hardness the tooth enamel naturally. |
