The Philosophy in the Ancient Chinese Musical Instrument-- Guqin

Abstract Guqin is one of China’s oldest and most revered musical instruments, which was listed as one of the masterpieces of the oral and intangible heritage of the world by UNESCO in 2003. It is deeply embedded in the Chinese culture that to embrace an all-encompassing moral philosophy known as the Dao (道) of qin or “the Way of the qin.” This ideology which contains a large sense of living philosophy is to be explored in this article, mainly from the traditional Chinese philiosophy of Confucianism, Buddhism and native Chinese Taoism.
