Understanding Nilgai Activity Patterns in Rajasthan: A Study on Habitat Use and Behavioral Ecology

Abstract This study investigates the seasonal activity patterns of the Nilgai (Boselaphus tragocamelus) in the Marwar region of Rajasthan, characterized by its arid to semi-arid climate. Conducted across diverse habitats—grasslands, forest edges, and agricultural areas—the research analyzed Nilgai behavior during winter, summer, and monsoon seasons. Data on feeding, running, standing, and resting activities reveal significant seasonal variations.
