Abstract | Khuldabad is a town in the present-day Aurangabad district of Maharashtra, India. The present paper deals with the inception of Sufism in Khuldabad, which dates back to the time of the Delhi Sultanate, circa 14th CE. Beginning with a brief introduction to the idea of Sufism, the present paper delves into constructing a detailed history of the inception of Sufism at Khuldabad, highlighting which prominent Sufi orders were active there, which ones gained greater control, and which ones vanished into obscurity. |
