Abstract | Introduction: This quasi-experimental study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a Basic First Aid Training Program among students in selected schools of Gurugram, focusing on both knowledge acquisition and practical skills development. Objective: The research involved a pre-test/post-test design with an intervention group that received the first aid training and a control group without any intervention. Methods: The sample comprised students from diverse backgrounds in selected schools of Gurugram, ensuring a representative mix of participants. The Basic First Aid Training Program was meticulously designed, incorporating theoretical knowledge sessions and hands-on practical training. The curriculum covered essential first aid techniques such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), wound care, choking response, and emergency response protocols. Results: The finding of the study showed that pre to posttest was improves gradually and the mean difference shows the result was statistically significant. There was an association between the education of mother with knowledge and skills of basic first aid among students. Conclusion: Basic first aid training programme shows effectiveness on knowledge and skills among the school students. The present study was intended to assess the effectiveness of basic first aid knowledge and skills training in school students of schools of Gurugram. |
