Abstract Election finance has long been a contentious issue in democracies around the world, with concerns about transparency, accountability and the potential influence of money on political processes. This abstract examines the concept of electoral communication in India, examines its impact on electoral climate and assesses its effectiveness in promoting transparency and accountability. Ballot papers were introduced as a way for individuals and corporations to donate money anonymously to political parties.
