Mental and Physical Health Promoting Behavior in Geriatric Widower and Non Widower: Comparative Study

Abstract	This study compares the mental and physical health-promoting behavior of geriatric widowers and non-widowers. Twelve participants, six widowers and six non widowers, who were of age 65 years or older, were chosen using purposive sampling. Semi-structured interviews were conducted. Thematic analysis was incorporated in order to analyze the data. The findings suggest that mental health promoting behavior was comparatively more in non widowers than widowers. Whereas both the groups had equal patterns of physical health promoting behavior.
