Abstract | White-collar crimes pose significant challenges to law enforcement agencies worldwide, and India is no exception. This research paper explores the obstacles encountered by Indian authorities in investigating and prosecuting white-collar crimes, with a particular focus on the Nirav Modi scandal. Through an analysis of regulatory failures, legal complexities, institutional deficiencies, and systemic challenges, the paper sheds light on the complexities of combating financial fraud in India. Drawing lessons from the Nirav Modi case, the paper offers insights into the reforms needed to strengthen India's regulatory and enforcement mechanisms to prevent future white-collar crimes |
