Abstract This study investigates the attitudes of students attending private basic schools in Salaga, Ghana, towards food safety procedures in canteen food services. The objectives of this study were twofold: first, to assess the attitudes of students attending private basic schools in Salaga towards food safety procedures in canteen food services; second, to ascertain the potential relationship between food safety procedures and students' knowledge of food quality.
