Gravitational waves: Unveiling the Ripples of Space-time

Author(s) Narayana Sharma H D
Country India
Abstract This article explores the groundbreaking discovery of gravitational waves and their profound implications for astrophysics and our understanding of the universe. Gravitational waves are ripples in the fabric of spacetime caused by the acceleration of massive objects, such as colliding black holes or neutron stars. The article discusses the historical context of gravitational wave theory, from Albert Einstein's prediction in 1916 to the first direct detection in 2015 by the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO).
