Abstract | The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is a pivotal regulation in healthcare, designed to safeguard patient data and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health information (PHI). In an increasingly digital world, the complexities of HIPAA compliance are growing, especially with the expansion of telemedicine, electronic health records (EHRs), and cloud-based healthcare systems. This paper delves into the challenges associated with HIPAA compliance, including data security risks, telemedicine, and the role of encryption in safeguarding patient data. It also examines solutions, the impact of non-compliance, and the future scope of HIPAA in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. |
