India’s Maritime Diplomacy: SAGAR Policy as Focal Point

Abstract The paper titled as “India’s maritime diplomacy: SAGAR mission as focal point” aims to look at the effect that SAGAR mission has on the maritime diplomatic assets of India. The SAGAR mission was a landmark mission which virtually formalised India’s maritime diplomatic goals. The paper also defines maritime diplomacy in India’s point of time & also explains how maritime diplomacy is extremely important for India’s security interests in both short & long run.
The paper adopts a pragmatic, optimistic view about India’s neighbourhood. The paper also has carried out a Strength-Limitations-Opportunity-Suggestion Analysis of SAGAR policy.
