A Descriptive Study to Assess the Knowledge on Patients Regarding Coronary Artery Disease Selected Hospital at Bhopal during the Year

Abstract A descriptive approach was adopted for the study with pre test design. The study was intended to assess the knowledge of structured questionnaire on coronary artery disease among 25-55yrs patients at selected (J.P.) Hospital Bhopal.
The population of the study consisted of 100 patients selected by purposive sampling technique from the selected J.P. hospital of Bhopal.
A structured questionnaire, was developed regarding coronary artery disease by investigator for data collection. Pre test knowledge regarding coronary artery disease was assessed for admitted patients of J.P. Hospital.
Findings indicated that the mean pre test knowledge score 10.31, median 9, standard deviation was 5.16 and level of p≤0.05.
In the study,depict the association between knowledge levels among the patients regarding CAD with their demographic variables. in relation to the age , the chi square value obtained was 18.34 and thus found to be significant .for sex the chi square value obtained was 9.49 significant and also for place , education (male& female) , types of family, occupation of (male& female), knowledge about CAD , the chi square value obtained were in order of 14.34 , 19.8 , 17.49 , 23.51 , 18.34, 16.92 , 18.34 respectively thus found of significant.
