Abstract This research paper explores the critical role of educational psychology in addressing students' anxiety and stress, which are increasingly prevalent issues affecting academic performance and overall well-being. The study delves into the psychological theories and practices that educational psychologists employ to identify, understand, and mitigate these mental health challenges in educational settings. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature and empirical studies, the paper examines the effectiveness of various interventions such as cognitive-behavioural strategies, mindfulness programs, and supportive counselling services. Case studies from diverse educational environments are analysed to highlight successful implementations and best practices. The research also investigates the underlying causes of anxiety and stress among students, including academic pressures, social factors, and personal issues, providing a holistic understanding of these conditions. Furthermore, the paper discusses the importance of early identification and continuous support from teachers, parents, and mental health professionals in creating a supportive educational environment. The findings underscore the necessity of integrating educational psychology principles into school curricula and teacher training programs to foster resilience and improve students' mental health outcomes. The paper concludes with recommendations for policy-makers and educational institutions to prioritize mental health resources and develop comprehensive strategies to address student anxiety and stress effectively. This research aims to contribute to the development of more supportive and psychologically informed educational practices that enhance student well-being and academic success.
