AI-Driven Cyber Risk Simulation for Security Posture Management in Financial Systems

Abstract | Financial systems are prime targets for sophisticated cyberattacks due to their critical role in global economies, high-value assets, and vast amounts of sensitive data. Traditional security posture management methods struggle to proactively identify risks across these interconnected networks. This paper proposes an AI-driven cyber risk simulation tool specifically designed for financial systems, which models potential attack paths and simulates "what-if" scenarios. The tool leverages advanced AI techniques to analyze misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, and missing controls, assessing their impact on critical assets. By dynamically adapting to evolving threats, the system prioritizes risks and provides actionable insights for improving security posture. Through the integration of AI, financial institutions can proactively mitigate threats, comply with regulatory requirements, and ensure the integrity of their operations. |
