Lakshadweep and Indian Island Tourism: A Comparative Perspective

Abstract The charm of Indian ocean island tourism entices visitors to visit idyllic places such as Lakshadweep, the Maldives, and the Andaman and Nicobar islands. Conducting a thorough examination of these tropical havens is vital in order to better appreciate their attractiveness to discriminating visitors, since travel tastes change over time. By assessing Lakshadweep's unique characteristics, this study recommends the island as a top alternative for travellers seeking experiences beyond the absolutely visual. The study examines a variety of factors that influence tourists' perceptions, including security concerns, variety of cultures, geopolitical stability, and sustainability of the environment, as well as scenic beauty and luxurious accommodations. This paper promotes for a new tourism paradigms based on security, environmental responsibility, and authentic experience by examining the dynamic island tourism environment and giving tourists with information to help them make informed decisions. Regulatory changes, infrastructure development, accessibility, and environmental preservation are some of the critical concerns that policymakers and stakeholders must solve as the Indian Ocean islands of becomes a growing tourist destination. This would allow the region to make the most of its tourism potential. Using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) as a methodical lens, this study provides insightful information about the corresponding importance of factors influencing tourists' destination choices, directing them to more fulfilling and trustworthy travel experiences on the fascinating Indian Ocean island destinations.
