Abstract | This paper presents a comparative analysis of the impact of digital tools on the teaching of history, contrasting traditional instructional methods with technology-integrated approaches. In recent years, the integration of digital tools into history education has transformed the teaching and learning experience, offering new opportunities for engagement, interactivity, and critical inquiry. Through a review of existing literature and empirical studies, this paper examines the advantages and challenges associated with both traditional and technology-integrated teaching methods. Traditional methods, characterized by lectures, textbooks, and worksheets, provide a foundation for historical knowledge but often lack the dynamism and engagement of digital approaches. In contrast, technology-integrated methods leverage digital tools such as online databases, interactive maps, virtual tours, and educational games to enhance student learning experiences. These tools enable educators to access a wealth of historical resources, foster critical thinking skills, promote collaboration and communication, and personalize learning experiences. However, challenges such as access disparities, technological infrastructure limitations, and concerns about digital literacy and historical accuracy must be addressed to realize the full potential of digital tools in history education. By synthesizing the findings of various studies, this paper seeks to inform educators, policymakers, and researchers about the transformative impact of digital tools on history teaching and learning, while highlighting the need for thoughtful integration and ongoing evaluation of technology in the classroom. |
