Formulation and Evaluation of Colon Targeted Matrix Tablet of Ornidazole

Abstract	The developed colon-targeted matrix tablet of ornidazole exhibited stability in terms of physical properties, drug content uniformity, and dissolution pattern after storage at 40°C for two months. These findings suggest that the formulated tablets have the potential for effective treatment of ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease by delivering ornidazole directly to the colon. Further studies are warranted to assess the in vivo performance and therapeutic efficacy of the colon-targeted ornidazole matrix tablets.
