Abstract Electric vehicles (EVs) are increasingly viewed as a pivotal component in the global transition towards sustainable transportation. In India, although EV adoption is currently modest compared to conventional vehicles, there is a widespread expectation that the penetration of EVs will undergo a substantial increase in near future. This anticipated growth is driven by the recognition of the environmental and socio-economic benefits of reducing reliance on fossil fuels, fostering a significant market for EVs. However, the increasing adoption of EVs has significant implications for power grids and distribution networks due to the substantial power demand required for recharging EV batteries. The integration of numerous EV charging stations (EVCS) into the utility grid generates harmonics, complicating the voltage profile and impacting overall voltage stability. This research paper provides an in-depth analysis of the influence of electric vehicle charging stations in India on voltage stability and voltage profile. The paper aims to contribute valuable insights into the evolving landscape of electric vehicle integration with the stability and quality of power systems in evolving energy infrastructure.
