Author(s) Md. Naimur Rahman Joy

Abstract There are various types of violence against women all over the world including Bangladesh. It acts as a negative influence for the development of a country. Most of the indicators used internationally for determining the development rank of a country take into account various issues including women's empowerment, women's education rate, women's entry into the workplace, discrimination against women, and women's safe workplace. Violence against women is the main obstacle to achieving these goals. And because of this, gender based violence is a threat to the development of a country. Through this research paper I have tried to find out how much gender based violence is harming the development of Bangladesh.
