Abstract | One of the primary drivers of information adjustment speed in Indian stock indices is technological innovation. The proliferation of high-frequency trading (HFT) algorithms and electronic trading platforms has significantly reduced the time it takes for information to be priced into the market. These technological advancements have democratized access to information and leveled the playing field for investors, leading to increased market efficiency. It is important to note that while faster information adjustment can enhance market efficiency, it also poses challenges such as increased volatility and the risk of market manipulation. Therefore, maintaining a balance between speed and stability is essential for the long-term sustainability of Indian stock indices. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for navigating the complexities of financial markets and making informed investment decisions. As India’s economy continues to evolve and integrate with the global financial system, the speed of information adjustment will remain a key determinant of the market. |
