Abstract | Wear and fatigue determine the life and performance of all the mechanical components. Understanding these phenomena is essential in predicting service life, reducing maintenance costs, and ensuring safety. This paper articulates comprehensive wear and mechanical fatigue analysis, including the mechanisms, considerations, and analysis techniques employed in mitigation design. The article emphasizes how these aspects provide impetus to mechanical design decisions, using real examples and industrial practices. This will help provide insight into how wear and fatigue analysis can enhance design efficiency, reliability, and durability. |
