Abstract Social media misinformation refers to false or misleading information spread across social networks, impacting public opinion and behavior. With the vast reach and rapid dissemination capabilities of social media platforms, misinformation can quickly go viral, causing significant societal harm. Factors such as user-generated content, lack of fact-checking, and engagement-driven algorithms contribute to the spread. This research paper explores how social media misinformation occurs and discusses potential solutions, including technological interventions, media literacy, and regulatory measures to protect the integrity of information.
