Outlining Principle of Data Protection through various Indian Legislations with comparison to The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023

Abstract This article is exploring a variety of legislations in different sectors, such as, financial, health, information technology, etc. to discover how the principle of personal data protection and privacy was dealt with under Indian legal regime before the enactment of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. It attempts to compare between them and examine how the new law is an improvement over previous laws and finally suggest what changes or modifications it may require, learning from provisions under the other laws from the different sectors.
