Abstract | Eating disorders(EDs) are a growing issue in the lives of many in recent years with the number of adolescents with EDs soaring extremely high without any proper implications for treatment. Research suggests that the alteration in the normal microbial composition, called dysbiosis, may contribute to the development of EDs when associated with a specific genetic susceptibility, and several putative mechanisms have already been identified. Since the knowledge on the topic gut microbiota and its connection to eating disorders is very limited due to small number of cases, we aim to understand, through research, the reason behind the same and explore the various treatment options |
