Author(s) Maali Chrispo
Country Uganda
Abstract The research sought to investigate the remuneration of teachers in government- aided secondary schools in the Kasese district of western Uganda. A cohort of 234 teachers from 25 designated schools was selected through purposive and stratified sampling methods. A mixed-methods strategy that combined quantitative and qualitative approaches was utilized for data collection and analysis. Quantitative data were analyzed using SPSS version 24, while qualitative data were assessed through content analysis. The results indicate that the average level of compensation was relatively high, leading to a positive impact on teachers' performance. It is suggested that policymakers in the education sector concentrate on enhancing compensation packages to enhance teachers' effectiveness in their duties.
