Abstract | The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 of India ushers in a transformative vision for science education, emphasizing a shift towards a more holistic and inquiry-based approach. This paper explores the policy's key features with a specific focus on their impact on science education in India. It analyzes both the strengths and weaknesses of NEP 2020, highlighting its emphasis on critical thinking, experiential learning, interdisciplinary connections, and technology integration as significant advancements. However, the paper also acknowledges the challenges associated with implementation, including infrastructure limitations, teacher training needs, assessment reforms, ensuring equity and inclusion, and fostering a culture of research and innovation. By critically examining NEP 2020's provisions and potential roadblocks, the paper aims to contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the policy's impact on science education in India. |
