Sustainable Composites in Mechanical Engineering

Abstract This review paper explores the development and application of sustainable fiber composites, focusing on their potential to replace conventional synthetic fiber composites in various industries. Natural fiber composites (NFCs) offer unique advantages, such as biodegradability, low cost, renewability, and lightweight properties, making them an environmentally friendly alternative. Unlike conventional composites, which often rely on non-renewable resources like glass and carbon fibers, NFCs are derived from natural sources, such as plants and animals, contributing to a reduced environmental footprint
