Abstract Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans) is a primary causative agent of dental infections, including tooth decay and periodontal disease. Recent studies suggest a potential link between S. mutans dental infections and an increased risk of heart attacks. This review aims to summarize the current evidence on the relationship between S. mutans dental infections and heart attacks, exploring the possible mechanisms and implications for public health.
