Abstract | This research paper deals with human rights violation in police custody. The concept of human rights violations in police custody is referred to in a variety of ways including police brutality police torture police excesses, custodial violence, and lock-up crimes, the general implication of this concept is that people in police custody are not treated with the dignity and are not given ample rights that citizen in a model democratic state deserve. The practice of limiting an individual’s status, harassing him physically or mentally, or depriving him of his personal liberty or fundamental freedoms in police custody can be treated as human rights violation in police custody. |
