The morphologies of these lesions are highly diverse. Histopathological examination has been used for diagnosing these lesions as well as differentiating between benign and malignant lesions. Colonoscopic biopsies and colectomy specimens are considered for study. The specimens were fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin, processed and embedded, after which, the sections were cut and stained with hematoxylin and eosin. special stains and IHC were performed whenever needed.
