Mapping the Path to Sustainability: A Study on Household Renewable Energy Adoption Trends

Abstract | This study investigates household renewable energy adoption trends in Rohini, Delhi, with a focus on women and climate change mitigation. The transition to renewable energy is crucial for combating climate change and reducing environmental impact. This research surveys 50 households to assess awareness, attitudes, and adoption barriers and drivers for renewable energy technologies owing to climate change. Findings reveal that while many are aware of government incentives and express a willingness to adopt renewable energy, actual implementation is hindered by high costs, lack of information, and technical challenges. Key drivers include environmental concerns and financial savings. The study suggests enhancing adoption through improved financial incentives, community education, and women-focused initiatives. Addressing these factors can foster broader adoption of renewable energy, contributing to effective climate change mitigation strategies. |
