Children’s Rights Perspective on Privacy and Data Protection in the Digital Age

Abstract The digital age has transformed children's lives, raising new challenges for their privacy and data protection. This paper examines the conflict between children's rights to privacy and parents' freedom to share online, focusing on issues like "sharenting" and data exploitation. It also reviews global legal frameworks such as the UNCRC and GDPR, assessing their effectiveness in protecting children's digital rights. The study proposes legal reforms and best practices, emphasizing the need to prioritize children's best interests while balancing parental responsibilities and children's autonomy in the digital world.
