Abstract This study investigates the implementation and impact of student-centered teaching (SCT) in the Film and Television Arts program at the Communication University of China. SCT is grounded in constructivist learning theory, emphasizing students' active participation in their education. The research employs an explanatory mixed-method design, combining quantitative analysis of facilities, equipment, and learning activities with qualitative insights from interviews with students and teachers. Results indicate that while facilities and equipment are generally sufficient, there is room for improvement to enhance SCT. Teachers and students show good engagement with SCT, but challenges such as outdated facilities, limited student motivation, and the need for further teacher training persist. Recommendations include upgrading infrastructure, simplifying facility access, and fostering professional development to ensure the full potential of SCT in preparing students for careers in film and television.
