Abstract | As we anticipate the 2024 Paris Olympics, it is imperative to examine the multifaceted consequences of human rights abuses in host nations, particularly in relation to the treatment of migrant workers involved in the construction and preparation for the Games. These workers often endure exploitative conditions, including insufficient wages, prolonged working hours, and hazardous work environments. This raises significant ethical questions about the obligations of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and host nations in ensuring that the Games not only promote athletic excellence but also safeguard the fundamental rights and dignity of all individuals involved. |
