A Review of Self-regulated Learning and Lifelong Learning in Chinese Vocational Education

Abstract This literature review explores the relationship between self-regulated learning and lifelong learning in the context of Chinese vocational education. Self-regulated learning is discussed as a foundational component in educational psychology. The relationship between self-regulated learning and lifelong learning is examined, illustrating how self-regulation skills foster continuous learning. Moreover, this review addresses the role of lifelong learning in vocational education in China, emphasizing the need for flexible, skills-based learning pathways to support economic and personal growth. In addition, the paper explores lifelong learning policies in China. The literature review culminates in a discussion on the challenges and opportunities in Chinese vocational education.
