Abstract Pharmacists play a crucial role in managing over-the-counter (OTC) products within retail pharmacy settings, ensuring safe and effective use among consumers. With the rise in self-medication trends, the responsibility of pharmacists extends beyond merely dispensing products to providing informed guidance, assessing potential drug interactions, and educating patients on proper usage. This article explores pharmacists' roles in OTC product management, including counseling, screening for contraindications, and ensuring patients understand dosage and side effects. Challenges such as limited access to patients' medical histories and the ethical considerations surrounding OTC product recommendations are also discussed. Furthermore, this study highlights the impact of regulatory guidelines on pharmacists' practices and emphasizes the importance of patient-centered communication. Through these efforts, pharmacists contribute to public health by promoting safe OTC product use, preventing adverse reactions, and fostering an environment of responsible self-care. The evolving landscape of OTC product management offers opportunities for improved patient outcomes through technological advancements and enhanced training.
