Author(s) Satyavir Singh, Rakhi Kumari
Country India
Abstract Internet addiction has emerged as a significant psychological concern, particularly among populations subjected to high stress and isolation, such as paramilitary forces. This review examines the effects of internet addiction on social connectivity and personal relationships within this demographic. By synthesizing existing research, the paper explores the psychological mechanisms that drive internet addiction and its implications for social well-being. The review highlights how excessive internet use can exacerbate social isolation, impair peer and familial relationships, and contribute to a decline in overall psychological well-being. The paper concludes with recommendations for mitigating the adverse effects of internet addiction among paramilitary personnel.
