Abstract | Human error is standard in every human’s profession, and it is also the case for healthcare. In medical laboratories, human error can occur in several steps. In laboratory medicine, the pre-analytical phase is crucial to obtain reliable test results. However, it is prone to a lot of pitfalls, mistakes, and errors leading to increased testing time but also to misdiagnosis. Some process errors leading to decreased test result reliability can be avoided, even more easily using specific automatic AI methods. |
