Abstract | The opioid crisis continues to be a critical public health emergency, exacerbated by factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic and evolving patterns of substance misuse. This article examines how technology and data analytics are enhancing prevention strategies and improving treatment outcomes for opioid misuse. By leveraging predictive analytics, prescription drug monitoring programs, telemedicine, artificial intelligence, and mobile health applications, stakeholders can identify at-risk populations, optimize interventions, and personalize care. The integration of these technologies presents significant opportunities to address the crisis more effectively while introducing challenges related to data privacy, equity, and interoperability. This article explores current applications, highlights successful case studies, and discusses future directions for utilizing technology and data analytics in combating the opioid epidemic. |
