Abstract This study investigates the effects of Mentha spp. . essential oil on various aspects of human health, focusing on its antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and cognitive-enhancing properties. We conducted a series of in vitro and in vivo experiments to evaluate the efficacy of Mentha spp. . oil against common pathogens, its potential to reduce inflammation markers, and its impact on cognitive function. Our results demonstrate significant antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, with minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) ranging from 0.5 to 2.0 μg/mL. In vivo studies revealed a reduction in inflammatory markers, including C-reactive protein (CRP) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), by 30% and 25%, respectively, in subjects treated with Mentha spp. . oil. Cognitive function tests showed improvements in memory recall and attention span by 15% and 12%, respectively, in the treatment group compared to the control. These findings suggest that Mentha spp. . oil has potential applications in promoting human health through its antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and cognitive-enhancing properties.
