Abstract This study assesses the impact of Information Communication Technology (ICT) on the performance of human resource departments in selected NGOs in Iringa. The focus is on recruitment and selection, training and development, and performance appraisal. The study used a descriptive research design and a qualitative approach, with a sample of 80 out of 100 employees selected through purposive and simple random sampling. The findings suggest that integrating ICT in recruitment and selection improves job performance, while performance appraisals facilitated by ICT enhance employee progress and development. Moreover, there is a significant relationship between training and development programs and ICT usage in improving employee skills and overall department performance. The study recommends that employees upgrade their ICT skills to remain relevant and efficient, emphasizing the importance of effective ICT programs in enhancing human resource department performance.
