Abstract | Purpose - The study intends to analyse the impact of digitalization on higher education in the Dakshina Kannada District, It mainly focuses on the advantages, problems, and solutions faced by students and institutions. Design/methodology/approach - The analysis was carried out using both Primary and secondary data. Primary data was collected through the questionnaires in the Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. Secondary data were collected from print and online publications. Collected data were entered in SPSS and descriptive statistics were used for data analysis. Findings – The research study revealed a number of obstacles to higher education's digitalization, including poor funding, inadequate digital facilities, unstable internet and power connections, cost of maintenance and a lack of digital literacy among instructors and students. Digitalization has still improved accessibility and convenience of education, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was observed that the more than 50% of students reported feeling comfortable in digital classes and the majority of students agreed that digital classes were excellent. |
