Author(s) Shama Banu
Country India
Abstract Emotional intelligence, often referred to as EQ is the ability to understand, manage, and effectively express one’s own emotions, as well as to engage and navigate the emotions of others. Unlike IQ, which measures cogitative abilities, EQ is centred on interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, such as empathy, self-regulation, motivation, and social awareness. Emotional intelligence is increasingly recognized as a key factor in personal success, healthy relationship and effective leadership. The concept has been criticized by some of the definitions. Additionally, several limitations to the instruments used to measure emotional intelligence have been identified. The review examiners involving emotional intelligence, both within the health professionals and externally .understanding the EQ requires looking at its core elements and various ways it influences human behaviour.
Keywords IQ, EI, humorous anecdote, self-wariness, self-regulations, empathy.
