A Study to Assess the Level of Anxiety among Patients Undergoing Cardiac Procedures in Selected Tertiary Care Hospital

Abstract Various research studies have been done in the field of psychiatry, medicine and nursing to assess level of anxiety among preoperative patients for cardiac interventions.
A study conducted in Nepal by S Sidgal et. All on anxiety evaluation in Nepalese adult patients awaiting cardiac surgery through a prospective observational study at a core medical institution in Kathmandu, Nepal. 140 patients participated and data of 123 were used. The results revealed that more than half of participants experienced preoperative anxiety, with prevalence more in females and participants with a past history of anaesthesia exposure and mental/ nervous disease
