Abstract | A game-changer, facial recognition technology has uses in marketing, convenience, security, and law enforcement. Even though its use has increased quickly, there are serious privacy, cultural, and ethical issues with it. The development, present state, and prospects of facial recognition systems are examined in this article, along with its advantages, disadvantages, and social effects. Along with the requirement for strong legal frameworks, privacy threats, surveillance, bias, and discrimination are important concerns. The responsible development of facial recognition technology can strike a balance between innovation and ethical considerations by encouraging collaboration among stakeholders, guaranteeing that it protects fundamental rights and serves the public good. |
