The low workforce participation rate of women in Uttar Pradesh is a significant indicator of the socioeconomic challenges faced by women and girls in the state. The sex ratio indicates a significant gender imbalance, which can be attributed to various factors, including sex-selective practices and societal preferences for male children. The suggestive framework emphasizes the multi-faceted approach needed to empower women by both governmental action and grassroots movements. Increasing awareness among women about their rights can significantly contribute to their empowerment and effective participation in various spheres of life.
