Abstract | Streetlights play an important role for public safety and urban infrastructure. However, there is a need to replace the traditional streetlights with smart streetlights which contain sensors and actuators integrating with appropriate devices to make them more intelligent . Traditional street lights have many issues like huge power consumption ,small lifespan and hard to detect the fault. To overcome these problems, there is a need to implement smart and advanced technology such as drone based aerial inspection , zig bee based wireless sensors and many more. These technologies not only detect faults but also help to reduce wastage of time ,maintenance cost and enhance its performance. Therefore, the aim of this research is to establish the smart urban infrastructure by enhancing the efficiency and reliability of the street lighting. |
