Abstract In the dynamic and competitive environment of today's workplace, diversity is more than a buzzword- it is a significant driver of creativity and innovation. This paper examines how the 'different' categories, including LGBTQ+ employees, neurodivergent individuals, and the specially abled, contribute uniquely to workplace innovation. The study employed a mixed-method research approach that combined survey research and qualitative interviews to get insights from professionals in different industries. The results show that these people bring different perspectives and problem-solving strategies that promote creativity. For instance, the study shows how cognitive diversity that comes with different life experiences and alternative patterns of thinking produces new solutions that the traditional workforce composition may not easily imagine. The study reveals the innovative potential of the marginalized groups in the workforce by analyzing data from a comprehensive survey of professionals and conducting in-depth interviews.
It culminates with practical recommendations to organizations on building an inclusive environment where all employees' potentials can be unlocked and leverage diversity as a strategic advantage. Providing the strategic roadmap for transformation of workplace culture, research has come to deliver insight on how organizations effectively integrate and empower diverse talent to enhance innovation and problem-solving capability and competitive position in a fast-evolving global marketplace.
