Abstract | Uncovering Socioeconomic Conditions and Challenges in Indian Agriculture: The Critical Role of Women Female Agricultural Laborers in Ranchi District Faced With Women in Indian Agriculture has crucial positions and play a variety of responsibilities in society. They employ nearly three-fourths of the agricultural labour force. Rural women use a variety of strategies to support themselves, typically working on farms alongside their home obligations. Contrary to popular belief, women outperform men in agricultural productivity across all land tenures. While rural women's conditions are steadily improving, their significant contributions to agriculture must be acknowledged and appreciated. The vast pay inequities that negatively impact the well-being of female farm labourers are exacerbated by the fact that they are paid much less than the required rates. Rural women face various challenges that prevent them from making a meaningful contribution to development while being partners with men on an equal footing in the agricultural sector. In light of these facts, this study extensively evaluates the socioeconomic situation and present-day conditions of women working in agriculture in the Ranchi District. |
